Angel Alberto Atencio Méndez

Born in Maracaibo. Angel Atencio started his violin studies with José Balda at the Conservatory of Music “Jose Luis Paz” part of the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestra (Fundamusical Simón Bolívar), and Pedro Moya, teacher of violin at the Academia Latino Americana.


In 2008 he was invited to the Academia Nuevo Mundo Music Festival where he played with the festival’s Orchestra and received classes from: Simón Gollo, Virginie Robilliard, Álvaro Lares, Víctor Vivas, Tomas Hernandez, and others. Invited again in 2009 and then participated in different courses at the Academia Latino Americana of Violin and received classes from: Rhio Sánchez, Francisco Díaz and Camilo Acosta.


In 2010 he had the opportunity to play with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela on a national tour, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. And in 2011 he was part of the Violin I section of the Orquesta Juvenil Zuliana Rafael Urdaneta in Bergamo, Italy for the Bergamo’s Music Festival; conducted by Rubén Darío Cova, Stefano Miceli and Henan Rodriguez.


Later on, in 2013, he enrolled to the “Cesare Pollini” Conservatory of Music (Padua, Italy) where he started his bachelor in violin with Diego Masutti, and where he currently continues his studies.


In 2014 he participated in a Music Festival called “Marzo Organistico” in the city of Noale and got the chance to be part of the Baroque Orchestra, playing concerts all over the Veneto region of Italy.

 

In 2015 he was invited to play as a soloist in the opening and closing of the Classical Music Festival of Alpago (Belluno, Italy).


In the city of Amsterdam in 2016, he debuted with the Ensamble Çur in the prestigious Concertgebouw Theatre
