Yordano Nuñez Fuenmayor
Born in Maracaibo in 1992. Yordano Enrique Nuñez Fuenmayor started his music studies at age 10, learning to play the cuatro (a Venezuelan instrument) and later the guitar (acoustic and electric). He started studying the vocal technic and became part of the school’s choir at his School “Niños Cantores del Zulia”.
In 2007 he started his studies in fagot but because of health problems he had to quit; although it wasn’t a problem because he discovered the double bass and started studying with Rafael Bermudez 6 months after that. Not a year had passed by when he was admitted in the Orchestra Juan Bautista Plaza and Orquesta de la Juventud Zuliana Rafael Urdaneta. From 2007 until 2013 he was also part of the Filarmonic Orchestra of Maracaibo.
In 2010 he started his studies in Musicology at the Universidad Católica Cecilia Acosta in Maracaibo and joins the Tenor choir. From 2011 until 2013 he studied double bass at the “José Luis Paz” Conservatory of Music with Elvis Martinez in which he was part of the Academic Orchestra. In 2012 he was asked to join the “Cool Jazz Session” Orchestra and then also decides to join the Schola Gregoriana Gaudete, where he learned to sing Gregorian chant. In these years he also was part of the teachers at the Instituto Niños Cantores del Zulia and the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela.
He had the opportunity to play with the “Estudiantina LUZ” and in different kinds of ensembles of Venezuelan music, classical music, contemporary music, rock, pop, reggae, jazz and others. He also participated in the Nuevo Mundo Festival and Academy in 2012, year in which he wins the contest to play in the Symphonic Orchestra of Maracaibo as part of the orchestra, and plays as a soloist with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Maracaibo.
In 2013 he enrolled to his bachelor in double bass at the “Francesco Venezze” Conservatory of Music in Rovigo, Italy with Ubaldo Fioravanti. Gets graduates in 2016 and just after that, he starts his master degree there.
He got to play in Italy with different orchestras and festivals, such as: “Festa della Musica Attiva” in Piazzola sul Brenta, XI Incontro Internazionale – Play to Play and Sinfonica Eucaristica in Torino (Associazione Piccole Impronte), Youth Orchestra of Caracas. He is constantly invited to play in concerts of the conservatories of Rovigo and Padua and the “Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto” (OPV). He played at the SEYO (Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra) Summercamp 2015 in Milan, and was part of the “Progetto Orchestra” from January to April 2016 in Vicenza under the conduction of Leon Spierer and Giancarlo Andretta. Throughout all his years in orchestras, he had the pleasure to work with other conductors like: Gustavo Dudamel and Dietrich Paredes.
In the city of Amsterdam in 2016, he debuted with the Ensamble Çur in the prestigious Concertgebouw Theatre.
